Why is it that some of the forum members keep bashing the Brits in their posts. Lets not forget without us Cyprus would be a poorer place to live the Brits bring so much to the island through tourism and new settlers, so come on now lets have no more of the bitter and twisted jibes. And you know deep down that you really love us.

Well Rod if a Cypriot were to up-sticks and move to Britain I am sure they would do the same. Difference is we have a live and let live attitude over here.

Welcome to the Forum Lucky Jim  Great post! You won't stop them though! Don't be put off as the Cypriots are lovely, welcoming people apart from a few on this forum as you have seen for yourself! Have fun  |

What specifically do you consider as unfair Brit-bashing?
I think on the whole, the forum is well represented by Cypriot bashers and Brit-equalisers ...
Rather plebeian to moan without evidence ... |

Unfortunately we need the tourism and the Brits to buy properties, but that doesn't give us the right to try to change the Cypriot way of life!
I have been here over 30 years and I am happy with the way things are. The BS we keep getting about Cyprus now being a member of the EU so why aren't things like the rest of Europe is crap. We are happy the way we are. If things take longer to happen than in the UK, so what, that is why this is Cyprus.

Whats happening Lucky Jim.. I strongly disagree with you mate, Cyprus without the Brits would not of been a poorer Island at all, my ppl & I can say my ppl though I was bourne and bred here in the uk, were never poor!! I wish they were fewer brits in Cyprus actually.
How about Britain? who now lives in uk who are actually pure British (White) without ppl from other countries UK would be very very poor! I mean what is British these days? what do you eat when you go out or stay in? Fish and Chips? Beans on Toast? Nooo you go out or cook Indian or Chinese food. In the old days in uk, you hardly ever use to eat Chicken or know what a Watermelon was. England is a very poor country without other ppl from other countries bringing in and working. I dont think you should ever say without the British Cyprus would be poor.. Its obvious you do not know your history, I do not mean to insult any one but learn your own ppl and country before you try and chat crap about others..

I totally agree with you for once Brits moving to Cyprus can't expect it to be the UK in the Sun otherwise they will be very disappointed. They should respect the Cypriot culture. Likewise with people coming to the UK they should respect ours too!  |
