Cyrpus Independence Day was adopted as the 1st October 48 years ago However, many Cyrpiots still do not understand the Importance or the meaning of what was agreed and achieved-by the creation of this new nation with the support of the rest of the world.
That this ought to be an independent state that does not and should not belong to any other nation other than the Cypriots.

So let's start getting rid of some Greek and Turkish flags then.

Independence from the British is well worth a celebration ... Cool

But Cypriots have been Cypriots for far longer than 48 years.

Denial of that fact is tantamount to treason and respect for the thousands of years of existence of Cypriots on Cyprus ... shackled or free.

There is a need to remove all foreign flags from Cyprus.
There is a need to also teach our Dialect at schools
There is a need to keep & promote the Gold and Green Colours to all the Government buildings, and Government assets. Post office have the Green and Gold.
Some Government department do and some don't.
Police Stations and Cars should also adopt the colours in some way. Government employees in Uniforms should also have insignia or uniforms with our nations official colours
Which other Government department do not use the colours i do not recall right now....

Very good, but it is worth noting how we managed to come to this predicament. This is a resolution passed unanimously by the Cyprus Parliament in July 1967.

Would Oracle be kind enough to translate the above?

So Bananiot, how do we atone for our past sins? How should others atone for theirs?

The talk here is about Independence.

And by the way folks, the colors are not Gold and Green, they are Copper and Olive. All that glitters etc.

Agreed partition is tantamount to high treason.

Insisting for ever on an unattainable BBF reunification agreement -given the grossly illegitimate and unacceptable Turkish /TC demands and claims, allowing in this way time to the other side to gradually and steadily succeed a non-agreed partition on the basis of the 37% of Cyprus they currently illegally occupy; is tantamount to an even higher degree of treason, than a negotiated and agreed partition on the basis of a reduced territory that will more accurately reflect the fair (demographic and property ownership) share of the TC community in Cyprus.
