I think Christofias has shown to be a true Statesman and has honoured all Cypriots in his attempts thus far to unite his people. Talat on the other hand whether unwilling or unable still continues to talk about partition and has not shown any initiative to be a vice president for all Cypriots. His attitude towards Christofias' actions to invite to the Council of Europe shows nothing but inability to be a leader.
Once again the TC's deserve what they get. They voted him in and if they want to catch up to the rest of Cyprus they need to vote him out.
I certainly don't have any confidence that the man can unify anything and I certainly don't want him representing me on any level. And yes as halil, VP and Zan have repeaetdly reminding me he is not there to represent me because I have a greek speaking heritage a true leader does not discriminate.
He will soon need to make a decision though be a slave to Turkey for another 34 years or join with Christofias to rid the Turks from Cyprus and therefore enabling all Cypriots and more specifically his community to develop and thrive in all domains of Cypriot life, econmoinc, cultural, social and political.
A united Cyprus cannot afford to have greek and Turkish speaking political parties this time they need to get it right. I certainly don't want to see future Cypriots going through another 63 and 74 because of current incompetence primarily evident on the TC side. |
When has President Talat or in fact any TC claimed to represent any GCs or the south? you did not elect him so how can he claim such a right. You are the ones who claim to represent the whole island including the TCs for political gain although we did not elect your leader we didn't give him any mandate to speak on our behalf. President Talat had the opportunity to put forward the position from which he is trying to negotiate and asked for equality of the 2 sides not allowing only one sides voice to be heard, he was right in everything he had to say and we support him 100%. Be careful of what you wish for a replacement for President Talat would be far worse and would not even give the GCs the time of day let alone start a negotiations process. |
Your community was not able to elect the president of the republic in 1960 either. Doesn't mean you didn't see him as your president. |

If we go for this BBF deal then Talat will most likely become president of Cyprus at some point. We therefore have a RIGHT to expect from him to show interest for ALL of Cyprus and for ALL Cypriots now. Something he can do withouth compromising his pro TC commitment.
I have not heard him refer to the GC communities interests ONCE so far. In effect he is undermining himself as a future president of Cyprus and invites suspicion regarding his motives. |

If this ever happen (Talat to be president of ROC) then there will be no G/cs for him to govern. There will be only T/cs / Turks and "neo Cypriots"- We, all others , will find another land to lieve with our culture/Ethnicity/ language / education etc etc/. Our ROC passports are ready to be handed over to the president of ROC, Mr Talat.

| Of course, did they expect us to co-live with the smelly Turks in this Greek island? |

| I would revolt against a President that merely takes a turn to satisfy some non-Democratic followers. |

And you never will!
All the selfish TC leadership, and most of the TC people, care about is legitimizing as much of the loot of July 1974 as possible and they’re not even being shy about it, yet OUR FOOLS keep driveling on about ”reunification” and other make-believe aspirations.
Unless Turkey is neutralized international justice for the sovereignty of Cyprus will never prevail. |

| And since Turkey will never be neutralised, you are really telling us that we are condemned, dead and buried, with no future ahead of us. Thanks a lot. |

| EPSILON, what is wrong with diversity? Would you not enjoy the difference if it came to that? Christ man, Socrates, some thousand years ago, had more sense. He proclaimed to be not a Greek, nor an Athenian, but a citizen of the world. I think Rafaelides is right. Present day Greece is inhabited by barbarians, that merely learned Greek. |

Is that your wish or a Nostradamus prediction?

I was clearly referring to the SOVEREIGNTY OF CYPRUS not just your personal well-being. I’m well aware that you’d have no problems wearing a Fez… |
